Merry Christmas

This is going to be the last post on my blog for 2008. With December arriving next week my time is going to filled with a 5th birthday, painting, the MIL coming to visit, packing up the house and us moving out for a week for renovations, Christmas, New Years, and a 3rd birthday.

In between times I am going to be working on my Nanowrimo ms to finish it. Having just lost my job I'm hoping I will have a bit more time to focus on my writing... although I am sure that the kids will keep me busy :o) 2009 is my year for submission and I am going to keep working to that goal.

I Want a Universal Remote Control

After a shocking week where I have not been able to write due to a myriad of things... stormy weather, renovations, injury, sick kids I have decided a want a Universal Remote Control.

Well, actually, I want a Universe Remote Control. You know, one with a great big pause button. The very action of pressing the pause button on the Universe Remote Control would bring to an immediate stop everything around me, but let me just get on with things.

Wouldn't NaNoWriMo be a breeze then, and imagine all those nasty things you could fast forward through, or rewind to live again?

I guess a big revelation is how much I love to write. I have always known I really enjoyed it, and that I want to make a go of it, but having got into a bit of routine of regular writing (and having a goal) this month, I found I really missed it when I couldn't do it.

I Want to Write

I have had so many interruptions to my writing so far this month that i am getting desparate. I knew that kids and renovations would get in the way, but a miriad of other things seem to be leaping onto my plate to ensure that I have as little time as possible to write.

I have my trusty notebook with me at all times, and the temptation to get it out and write is starting to become a problem. Point to note, never ever do aforementioned sneaky writing at a kindy meeting. For a start 'taking notes' at a kindy meeting looks a) rather dorky and b) like you are sucking up to the teacher. It gets more embarrasing when others start to think they have missed an important date to note and ask what it is you have written down. Probably not such a problem if you are prepared, but answering with the words like 'his arousal was obvious as she leant against him' is really a bit of a problem.

But when the urge to write hits it is just too hard to ignore.....

Writing Blind

Well I've done it. I've discovered that to write quickly I need to do it with my eyes shut ;o) This means that I am only thinking about what is to come, not what has come before. It stops me looking at everything else on the screen and giving in to the editor in me. I am now starting to power along (when I get the chance to write) and I think with a little more practice (because that is what I need) I will be able to put out over 1000wds per day.

Now that I have made a breakthrough I need to get on with it. Back to writing....
