Face to Face Group

I've been lucky enough to join a local face-to-face RWA group. Newly formed, we've met just a handful of times, but it has become a much anticipated event. Calling ourselves WIKS (Writers in KinShip), we meet once a month over lunch to discuss the highs and lows of our writing (ie chat *grin*).

Our small group has a diverse range of genres and experience, but we seem to have slotted together really well. Hopefully we'll continue to share our writing journeys for a long time to come.

Instead of blogging, I'm soaking up the sun at the beach.  Will resume my regular posts when I return next week.

Bye Bye Baby

It's gone. My manuscript is winging it's way to my 5DI mentor, Lilian Darcy. I'm a swirl of emotion - excited, nervous, scared, eager. It's a waiting game now, 8 weeks to be exact. Then I'll get Lilian's report and launch into a week of intensive writing. Fixing up the weaker areas of my manuscript to make it shine.

In the meantime, there's another story to tell *grin*.

Work and Life

Somtimes it's easy to lose focus. A friend sent the image below to me recently - it's good to put things in perspective occasionally. And to remember that if the words aren't flowing it's okay to drop the rubbber ball. It will bounce back!!
